Supplies:
  • foam feet
  • sharpie
We've been focusing on Dr. Seuss books lately, so when I saw these foam feet from Dollar Tree I immediately knew I could set up a simple and fun learning game for JZ (5) and J-Bug's  (3) evening shower to go along with The Foot Book.  Before the shower I wrote the words "left" and "right" on the foam feet with a Sharpie.  I wet them then scattered the feet on the shower wall.

Both boys immediately jumped in the shower and started playing with the foam feet.  J-Bug loved finding color matches and sorting the pairs.  JZ was very particular about reading the words "right" and "left" and making sure that the feet were on the correct side.

Learning left and right in the shower with foam shapes!

On other feet from the foam set I wrote numbers.  J-Bug enjoyed dumping water on them and trying to make the numbered feet fall off the shower wall.

He ordered the foam feet in numerical order.  Then he stuck each number back up on the wall.

On the remaining feet from the foam set I wrote out color words.

This shower activity cost $1 and took about five minutes to set up.  It was a huge hit with both boys, especially J-Bug.  I plan to set up more simple learning showers in the future.
